I pulled at the blue Of her bow That lay along the lines Of her whitened Tutu, While she leapt And turned Her head hanging. My fingers gripped The edges Of the painting, And I laid my head along hers Until I could hear the murmur of her Thoughts. The rhythm of your legs And the sound Of silk toes hitting Wood Drummed along to the violin's Empty wail. I need you so much closer, You were flailing in your ocean Drowning underneath The weight Of air, I knew you so well The way you spun to the music And how you drifted With a small frown On your fadeath of the ballerina in mind
